Why did the Chicken cross the road?

Q. Why did the chicken cross the road?

A. Because Kate and Tamsin have covered it with glitter and took it on the tube to the Houses of Parliament.

This exhibition uses the childhood fascination with animals to investigate how we experience the city. The chicken has been on the train, the bus and the tube, met a policewoman, brought a copy of the Evening Standard and visited some of the most famous tourist attractions in Central London. Outside of Westminster Abbey the tourists stopped photographing the abbey to photograph the chicken instead.

The chickens’ travels around London epitomises how we can be spectators of the city, whilst remaining an integral part of the same city, which we watch.

With special thanks to Marco and the boys at Bayeux, for their generous help with this exhibition.
