Diachromes

Ines gutierrez

Inés Gutiérrez's abstract paintings focus on colour as a means of capturing space and memories. Her chromatic experiences of nature and daily landscapes become a distilled visual reminiscence when translated onto the canvas. Impressions of light and colour, gathered often over a lengthy period of time, are then worked onto the canvas's blank surface, so that, layer after layer, an evocative image emerges of what was has been seen and felt. Her paintings are thus, 'diachromes', passages through colour.

Ines Gutierrez lives and works in London and Diachrome is her first solo show, having exhibited in group shows over the past nine years.
